About the position

We are seeking a Survey CAD Technician for a full-time in-office position within our Construction department in Apex, NC. The individual in this role will focus on converting field survey data into precise drawings and maps using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. In this entry-level position, the technician works under close supervision to create basic survey drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards and project specifications. Individuals in this role will collaborate with other team members, contributing to the overall success of the survey projects. This individual will carry out assignments for the Construction Manager with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares field prep files to aid field crew data collection.
• Processes and transforms field survey data into detailed drawings and maps.
• Create basic CAD drawings based on the instructions and specifications from            project leaders.
• Modify existing drawings, perform basic calculations under supervision.
• Ensure drawings meet set standards and codes.
• Reading deeds and plats and transform them into useable CAD entities.
• Importing and organizing field data in CAD.

Types of Surveys/CAD tasks we typically perform:

• As-Builts
• Boundary
• Recombination/Subdivisions (recordable maps)
  
• Legal Descriptions

Requirements:

• 2-5 years Civil 3D Experience preferred
• 2-5 years Land Survey experience or basic knowledge of field tasks
• Strong commitment to learning and developing in a fast-paced environment
• A willingness to read construction plans, procedures and perform field calcs, a basic understanding is required for advancement.
• Basic understanding of survey drafting practices within one survey domain.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & MS Teams.
• Attention to detail

$20 - $36 per hour depending upon experience
